process of Tea
Ever

you ever wondered about the process the tea has to go through
before it reaches the shelves of your favourite departmental store
or neighbourhood shop?
Is the
answer yes? Well, if it is, here is the detailed process the tea
has to go through before it reaches you, the consumer.
The process
of making tea is a very interesting one. In India tea is grown in
Darjeeling, Assam, Shimla, Kangra, and also here in the Nilgiris.
The tea manufactured in the Nilgiris is second in importance after
the Darjeeling tea which is world famous.
The tea plant is actually a tree which is pruned regularly to maintain
a certain level thus, giving it the appearance of a shrub. Tea shrubs
grow well in the Nilgiris owing to the fine climate that this region
experiences. The tea shrubs are grown on the slopes of the Nilgiris,
and, the area in which the tea is grown is known as a 'Tea Estate'.
There are a number of tea estates in the Nilgiris owned by different
companies, which have their own tea factories as well.
