    By Air: The nearest airport is the Coimbatore Airport which is 112 km away from Ooty, 92 km away from Coonoor and . Domestic airlines like Indian Airlines, Sahara Airways, Jet Airways etc. operate flights to and from various important towns and cities in India.

    By Rail : The Nilgiris can also be accessible by rail from Mettupalayam in the foothills of the Nilgiris from where trains are available to Coimbatore and Chennai.  

    By Road: Ooty is accessible by road from Coimbatore(99km), Mettupalayam(54km), Coonoor (19km),Bangalore, Mysore, Chennai.
